Greg M. Smith

Co-Founder & CTO

Greg’s career as a technology leader spans more than two decades, where he is best known for leading transformational education technology projects.


Prior to co-founding eLumin, Greg served as the Vice President and General Manager at Aloft by AccelerEd, where he led the development of student-focused cloud offerings.


Previously, as the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Interim CTO at the University of Maryland University College, Greg’s leadership resulted in improvements to the learning experience for a global student body. Working with Mohammad, he implemented UMUC’s cloud-first strategy, resulting in better service levels university-wide. Greg also spearheaded the university’s Desktop-as-a-Service program, granting distance learners access to educational applications from anywhere and on their own devices.


Prior to UMUC, Greg held positions at Hobsons, the DC Water and Sewer Authority, and the University of Indianapolis.


Greg holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Mason School at The College of William and Mary and a Bachelors of Social Work from Indiana University. He regularly presents and publishes articles on cloud enablement and technologies in education.

Mohammad A. Haque

Co-Founder & CTO

Mohammad has built a reputation as a solution-oriented leader and innovator known for applying his curiosity and technical knowledge to unique solutions that leverage the latest technologies.

 

Mohammad took on his first IT position while still in high school. In this role, he utilized his self-taught HTML skills before progressing to programming and systems administration. With these tools in his belt, Mohammad advanced to a developer position at Liquidity Services, a leader in innovative B2B e-commerce marketplace solutions. There, he became recognized as someone skilled at bringing the 10,000-foot view to technology solutions, applying his talents to everything from reverse engineering applications to data center migration. Mohammad’s diverse experience ultimately propelled him into the role of Director of Systems Architecture and IT Infrastructure.

 

Prior to co-founding eLumin, Mohammad served as the Cloud Solutions Architect in the Office of Information Technology at the University of Maryland University College where he was the technical lead in the implementation of UMUC’s cloud-first strategy. And as the lead architect on the university’s Desktop-as-a-Service program, he was able to bring that technology to over 12,000 students.

 

As well as being an AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Mohammad holds numerous other certifications and credentials demonstrating his depth of technical expertise serving the education community. He has shared that expertise at major industry conferences, including Educause and the AWS Public Sector Summit.
